One Prayer Away From Your Breakthrough!

Many Christians are living in discouragement even though they don’t have to. As Christians, we need to understand that God’s Word & prayer are vital for our lives. We need to tap into the Source of our strength.

God’s Word is full of encouraging stories. When you read and try to understand how they apply, they can really change your life and perspective. So often, we can look at our circumstances and become discouraged. Life can be difficult at times. The first thing we need to do is to prayerfully search for answers to our problems in God’s Word.

Instead of allowing discouragement to take over your life, allow God’s Word to encourage you!  It doesn’t matter how hard your situation may seem, God’s answer is at hand.

Let’s look at a story in the Bible that looked like an impossible situation. Without God’s help, there was no way he would have had the same outcome. He just needed to say one prayer before receiving his breakthrough.

Prayer For God’s Intervention

In 2 Chronicles 14 we read a story about King Asa. It says that “he did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God. (v.2)

King Asa had an army of 580,000 (v.8) but it was no match to the Ethiopian army that was coming against him. This army had 1,000,000 men (v.9). The opposing army was almost double. In the natural, there wasn’t much this king could have done. It may have been best for him to humble himself and retreat to save his men’s lives.

Many times, it appears as if there is no way for us to have victory. It could be that the doctor gave you a bad report that your sickness/disease is incurable. Maybe your landlord came and said that your rent is past due and you must pay. However, you just lost your job. Whatever breakthrough you may need, just know that it could be just one prayer away.

All too often, we hear the bad news and get discouraged instead of falling to our knees in prayer. We listen to the doctor, we hear the landlord, but we don’t seek God about the situation. However, I believe that if we cry out to God for help we will find that He is more than willing to rescue us.

Let’s look at what happened when King Asa decided to turn to God for help:

“And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your Name we go against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!” So the Lord struck the Ethiopians before Asa and Judah, and the Ethiopians fled. And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them to Gerar. So the Ethiopians were overthrown, and they could not recover, for they were broken before the Lord and His army. And they carried away very much spoil.

Immediately Asa’s prayer for God’s intervention was answered. God didn’t waste any time. Asa knew that it was humanly impossible to defeat the army so He cried out to God.

Your situation is too big for you to accomplish on your own. Ask God for help. He’s more than willing to do so.

Prayer Brings Abundant Breakthrough

Then they defeated all the cities around Gerar, for the fear of the Lord came upon them; and they plundered all the cities, for there was exceedingly much spoil in them.

God didn’t just stop with them defeating the Ethiopians. They were also able to defeat their other enemies and take much spoil.

God doesn’t just change one thing in your life. He changes everything about you. He loves you too much to let you stay the way you are. He’s constantly working in you. Allow Him to make those changes in you.

Whatever your situation may be, cry out to God today. He could just be waiting for you. I believe that He was waiting to see what Asa would do. Asa decided to cry out to God at the moment that he needed Him. God answered his prayer as a result.

Do you need Him now? Is your situation too difficult for you? Do you feel overwhelmed with what you are facing?

I have good news for you! You could be just one prayer away from your breakthrough! God is bigger than your situation. He’s greater than any circumstance that you are facing right now. Call out to Him for He will answer you. Jeremiah 33:3
