Father’s Heart Revelation – You Are God’s Child

This post is also available in: Español (Spanish)

One of the greatest revelations we can have as a Christian is to understand the Father’s heart. That is to say, He wants you to know Him as the perfect Father. Often one’s view of our Heavenly Father is very distorted, because of the way their earthly father treated them. Many can see Him as Lord and Saviour, however, very few know Him as Father. Sure, they may refer to Him as Father, but to fully understand His heart for you is a different thing.

God’s love for you is so great that He will leave the ninety-nine to look for you (Luke 15:4-7). What an amazing thought! You are so important to God that if you are lost or hurting, He will go look for you. He will leave everyone else just to find you. God’s love is so much deeper than we could ever understand.

In this blog, I want to leave you with some amazing thoughts. Think on them today. Above all pray that they would become a reality in your life.

1.    Father’s heart is thinking on you today

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

I love this verse in Jeremiah because it was a dark time in Israel’s history. They were being warned of being given over to Babylon due to their constant disobedience. God was going to punish them. Yet, He still had good plans for them. Likewise, He was already thinking of their future. Certainly, God is thinking of your future as well. He already has it planned out for you.

Ephesians 2:10 in the New Living Translation says that you are His masterpiece. How could you not be on His heart today? The God of the universe has his thoughts on you. He thinks about you daily. A person who has made a masterpiece focuses on that one piece. He could have made a million more but that one is precious. God thinks of us all this way. We have an amazing Father!

God is thinking about you right now! His plan for you has been set up since the beginning of time. COVID-19 didn’t take God by surprise. He knew it was coming. Likewise, He already knows how it will end. Therefore, rest in Him. He’s surely not worried about this virus. Instead, His mind and thoughts are on you! Likewise you should place your mind and thoughts on Him!

2.      Father’s Heart is willing to answer

God hasn’t forgotten you. He surely isn’t mad at you. God wants you to have your desires. Therefore He tells you to ask Him anything. Father promises to surely answer your prayers. Often, we want to use this as a selfish thing to get our way, however, when we understand our Father’s heart, we will line our hearts up with His will. We will be able to ask and be sure that He will do what we ask.

And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. John 14:13, 14

What do you need your Father to do for you today? He is willing to do it. He’s just waiting for you to ask in faith.

3.      Tell your Father how you feel

You can be honest with God. Tell him all your feelings, whether you are happy, sad, joyful, or depressed, angry, or frustrated, you can share with Him. He already knows how you feel anyways. Most of the Psalms are people expressing their feelings to God, not all of them are happy, joyful feelings.

Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation,
And uphold me by Your generous Spirit
. Psalms 51:10-12

After David sinned, he didn’t hide himself. He cried out to God. David shared his feelings with Him and let Him know that he needed joy to return to his life. He was open and honest with God.

4.      Father’s heart is rich in mercy

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved) Ephesians 2:4, 5

You can come before Him today because He is rich in mercy toward you. He loves you so much. If He only had to die for you, He would do it. God is a God of love. His love has been poured out in your heart and He wants to encourage you today. Fall into your Father’s arms of love today.

Allow God to show Himself to you as your Father. Ask Him to remove any hinderances in your mind to see Him as a perfect Father. Let Him love on you today! Raise your hands and worship Him!
